Job Description
Surgical Technician – Labor & Delivery (Per Diem, Night Shift)
We are seeking experienced Surgical Technicians to support a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit on a per diem basis. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about supporting safe and effective surgical care.
Schedule: Night Shift | 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Key Responsibilities
+ Prepare and maintain a sterile field for surgical procedures
+ Assist the surgical team during obstetric procedures, including cesarean deliveries
+ Handle and pass surgical instruments accurately and efficiently
+ Ensure proper sterilization and functionality of all instruments and equipment
+ Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptly
+ Perform accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments
+ Support patient care activities under the direction of the RN when not in the OR
