Job Description
Take the lead in ensuring infrastructure reliability at Tern as a Site Reliability Engineer. Own GCP migration, optimize performance, and build a robust monitoring framework to support rapid user growth.
Tern is preparing for massive infrastructure demands with a user base expected to triple. We are looking for a hands-on technical expert to guide our migration from Heroku to Google Cloud Platform. This player-coach role combines technical leadership with coaching other engineers to enhance productivity and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own the migration from Heroku to Google Cloud Platform
• Build and maintain the data layer with Postgres and BigQuery
• Optimize key backend code paths for improved performance
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and scaling strategies
• Lead incident response and create post-mortem analyses
