Senior Payroll Specialist – Canada

Job Description

The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for end-to-end Canadian payroll processing across multiple provinces. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely payroll delivery while supporting payroll projects, system enhancements, and process improvements. Partners closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Canadian payroll for employees across multiple provinces
• Audit payroll data and resolve discrepancies
• Administer hires, terminations, ROEs, leaves, and payroll adjustments
• Ensure compliance with CRA and provincial legislation
• Manage statutory remittances (CPP, EI, income tax)
• Prepare year-end filings (T4, T4A, RL-1)
• Reconcile payroll to the general ledger
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries
• Partner with HR, Finance, and third‑party vendors
