JOB PURPOSE

The Physician Assistant (PA) is an integral member of the Primary Health Care Team, working in collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other allied health professionals to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. The PA supports access to timely care, promotes health and wellness, and helps manage chronic and acute conditions in alignment with the team-based care model.

The Physician Assistant (PA) will be assigned to a Primary Supervising physician and will work with other Clinical Supervising Physicians as determined by the Chief of the department. The PA will function as a part of an interdisciplinary team and will engage in patient assessments, diagnostic workups, procedures, and management as determined by the Canadian Association of Physician Assistant Scope of Practice and National Competency Profile and the supervising physician.
