Registered Nurse- Surgical Services Clinic

Summary The Surgical Care Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based specialty care to patients in the clinical setting. This RN provides patient care, care coordination, health promotion, health education, & coaching on wellness, disease prevention and chronic care management to veterans in the surgical services specialties including, but not limited to: general surgery, ophthalmology, optometry, orthopedics, podiatry, thoracic, urology, and vascular areas. Responsibilities Major duties include but are not limited to: Integrating specialty care knowledge, skills abilities, and judgement and is self-directed in goal setting for managing complex outpatient situations. Demonstrating competence in specialty care practices and decision-making, deliberate planning and critical thinking skills.
