Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315‑bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialised mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high‑secure forensic mental health services in the province.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in nursing services within inter‑professional teams, especially for patients with complex conditions and unpredictable outcomes.
• Assess patient condition and needs through interviews, interaction and direct observation; develop and implement therapeutic treatment, care and discharge plans.
• Develop therapeutic nurse‑patient relationships using psychosocial rehabilitation, counselling, health teaching, medication administration and monitoring, and life‑skills instruction for community reintegration.
