Etches NICU, located at the Royal Alexandra Hospital! Our 69-bed unit is one of the busiest and most specialized NICUs in Canada, serving patients from across Northern Alberta, the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. With high acuity and high activity, we provide exceptional care to some of the most vulnerable infants. WHAT SETS US APART: We utilize a Family Centered Care philosophy within an interdisciplinary team model and are proud to be the only NIDCAP (Newborn Individualized Developmental Care and Assessment Program) training center in Canada. A dedicated Resuscitation and Stabilization Team (RST) responds to the High‑Risk case room at the Lois Hole Hospital.
