Radiology Technologist II, X-Ray (Halifax Regional Municipality)

Role Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging, the Radiology Technologist II performs radiological procedures for medical diagnosis in the operating room and X‑ray department as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess requisitions for appropriate examinations, views and equipment.
• Obtain pertinent patient information.
• Liaise and coordinate with the attending radiologist and surgeon while in the operating room.
• Ensure patients are informed about procedures and properly prepared before commencement of exams.
• Select techniques to provide quality imaging while keeping radiation exposure to patients and staff as low as possible.
• Practice sterile technique when required.
• Perform clerical duties related to patient care.
• Perform radiological procedures in the operating room and X‑ray department as needed.
