Position Overview
Experimental postdoctoral researcher in quantum optomechanics with exciton-polaritons, jointly hosted by the Macroscopic Quantum Optics (MQO) Group and Quantum NanoOptomechanics and Forces (QNOF) Group at Aalto University.
Project Goals
The project aims to reach the quantum regime of optomechanics with polaritons using GaAs/AlAs-based microcavities containing embedded quantum wells. The system provides a unique magic coincidence of phonon and polariton properties that allows simultaneous trapping of light and sound within the same high-Q cavity, enabling high optomechanical interaction for polaritons and mechanical modes in the GHz range.
Responsibilities
- Lead the experimental effort with PhD and master’s students.
