Job Description
Summary At the Wilmington VAMC, Pulmonologists see patients in the outpatient clinic and in the hospital wards for consultation for short/intermediate and long-term management. Hospital responsibilities also often include consultation in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and attending the Medical Intensive Care Unit as needed. Responsibilities This position includes several important clinical responsibilities. The most important are attending in the pulmonary clinics (seeing both initial visit and follow-up patients), attending on inpatient wards providing inpatient pulmonary consultation, attending in the MICU (leading the MICU team caring for critically ill veterans), and performing invasive procedures, including bronchoscopy as needed during on-service time.
