Pharmacy Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

To support patient safety and the hospital’s medication management system through the preparation, verification and supply of medications.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Successful completion of a Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program, or graduation from an OCP recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program
• Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a registered Part-A Pharmacy Technician
• Previous hospital experience is preferred
• Experience with hospital and KROLL computer systems will be an asset
• Typing, computer experience, aseptic technique, pharmaceutical arithmetic, and knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology
• Demonstrated exactness and attention to detail in the performance of technical tasks
• Able to communicate and cooperate with co-workers in a team oriented environment
