The Department of Art History in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern California, seeks qualified applicants for part-time, one-semester, in-person positions as Instructor or Lecturer to join our faculty at the Washington, DC, Capital Campus in Fall 2026.


The Art History faculty member will teach first semester undergraduate students enrolled in Foundations of Western Art: Renaissance to Contemporary (4 Units) | AHIS 121gp. This course examines European art and its legacy in the Americas from the Renaissance to the present, exploring painting, sculpture, architecture, and other visual media in relation to social and cultural history. Students will study art within broader cultural and historical contexts, developing skills in visual analysis, critical thinking, and written and oral communication.
