Overview

The Department of Surgery at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC) is seeking a full-time Orthopaedic Surgeon to provide regional services to Northern British Columbia. UHNBC is designated as a Regional Trauma Centre Level 3 that sees approximately 54,000 emergency room visits per year. The successful applicant will work with eight other local Orthopaedic Surgeons in providing comprehensive care to the community, with a referral base within the region. On-call commitment includes extended regional coverage. There is also the opportunity to provide regional care through visiting specialists clinics in other service areas in the Northern Health Authority (visiting Quesnel, Vanderhoof and Smithers).

UHNBC is the main teaching center for Medical Students in the UBC Northern Medical Program. Prince George is the Northern centre for business, education, health and culture in BC, servicing a direct population of approximately 100,000. UHNB...
