Job Description
Responsibilities
- Set up and break down stations
- Prepare and cook complete meals and dishes according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
- Weigh, measure and mix ingredients
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food
- Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food‑handling practices
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
- Clean kitchen and work area
- Assist in planning menus, determining size of food portions, and estimating food requirements
- Assist in hiring and training kitchen staff
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience as a line cook preparing steaks and high‑quality home‑style fare in high‑volume restaurants and large kitchens
- Secondary School diploma
