Legal Counsel 3 – Litigation – Manitoba Public Insurance

Salary: $128,724 to $193,086MPI’s seeking an experienced Legal Counsel with a strong background in civil litigation.ResponsibilitiesConduct complex general litigation including subrogation and defence work, at all levels of Court in Manitoba.Conduct appeals before AICAC and other administrative tribunals.Lead and conduct legal research and opinions on a wide variety of issues, complex problems and risks that impact MPI across all its lines of business.Prepare and provide seminars on various legal issues to MPI staff.Mentor, advise, and instruct Legal Counsel and articling students as required.QualificationsA Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree from a recognized Canadian (or equivalent) law school.Call to the Manitoba Bar, or eligibility to be Called to the Manitoba Bar.Five years’ experience practicing civil litigation is preferred.
