Labourer

Position Overview

ABC Recycling Ltd. is seeking a General Labourer who will be responsible for processing, moving, sorting, cutting, and packaging pieces of scrap metal and vehicles for transport out of our Burnaby, B.C. yard. This person will also be responsible for ensuring the yard is clean and always well maintained, ensuring safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Receives metals from customer and assist in unloading if required.
• Assesses and weigh various types and grades of ferrous metals.
• Maximizes mix loads of scrap from customers by sorting, high-grading and segregating accordingly.
• Ensures property, facilities, and equipment remain in good order.
• Communicates with customers and ensure they receive professional service.
• Cuts larger too thick pieces of metal into smaller marketable pieces.
• Loads and unloads trailers using a forklift.
