Junior Civil/Structural Engineering Specialist

Job Description Overview

The Civil Engineering Departments within Candu Energy are engaged in nuclear civil engineering work involving structural analysis, civil design, ageing management, plant modification and service work of existing Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) and New Builds. Civil/Structural engineers are required to perform structural and seismic analysis, seismic margin assessment, structural design, and to prepare and issue analysis, design, and assessment documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification, structural design, and ageing management for various systems.
• Prepare design calculations for steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry structures in compliance with CSA standards and relevant codes.
• Use structural analysis software (e.g., FEA tools such as ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE) to evaluate systems and components.
