About the Opportunity

Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor (Project Engineer, Operations Supervisor) or Engineering Survey Technician (EST), the Inspector II inspects, records, and monitors contractor activities at highway construction and maintenance sites to ensure safety requirements, procedures, and materials comply with specifications and Department policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a comprehensive daily log documenting contractor activities, including material deliveries, equipment on site, hours and areas of work, tests completed, special conditions, weather conditions, and conversations with the Contractor; photograph the construction site at various stages.
