Job Description

This position involves working with the Town of Newmarket's Recreation and Culture Team to deliver high quality programs, events, and services for adults with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Guide adults with disabilities through safe, well-planned and specialized activities in a group setting.
• Research and implement specialized programming for the BASE (Adult Day Program) to promote participant engagement and skill development.
• Lead adapted activities in a small group setting and organize required equipment and supplies.
• Adapt activities and make modifications to program plans as needed.
• Manage behavioural challenges to ensure the safety of participants with disabilities, other participants and staff. This may involve physical contact with participants (e.g., guidance).
