General Machinist Apprentice

Job Summary

This is an entry lever role for the purpose of training a general machinist while they are working in the field. The role will have the associate machining parts and components critical the daily running of the plant as part of the daily maintenance of the machinery.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Assists in reading and interpreting drawings and work process documentation.
• Assist in cutting, shaping and machining various materials to tolerance based on provided drawings or samples.
• Assists in performing various work in process measurements to maintain tolerances.
• Works with Maintenance to accommodate repairs and redesigns of parts for production machinery.
• Assists in setting up and operating machine shop equipment (Lathe, mill, surface grinders, etc.).
