Job Description
Become a Shift Operator 1 in Fredericton, NB at the University of New Brunswick. This full-time role involves safe operations in a high-pressure steam heating plant while ensuring optimal performance and safety protocols.
The Shift Operator 1 reports directly to the Shift Operator 2 and CHP Superintendent, playing a crucial role in overseeing UNB's Central Heating Plant. You'll operate boilers burning Biomass, Bunker C, and Natural Gas, managing an uninterrupted supply of high-pressure steam across the facilities. Adaptation to new technologies, along with performing maintenance and ensuring safety, is key to this role.
Key Responsibilities: • Assist with the operation of a high-pressure steam heating plant • Order and manage wood fuel supply and samples • Maintain clear access to the receiving hopper • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment • Ensure compliance with safety regulations for all visitors
