Reporting directly to the Manager of Digital Workplace & Service Delivery and working closely with the Police Modernization Portfolio Manager, the Computer Technical Support position will assist in maintaining a high level of technology service delivery to employees of the Timmins Police Service and perform various tasks related to resolving issues in the Police Service’s Computer Information Systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal computer help‑desk support, responding to hardware and software requests, troubleshooting, installing approved software on personal computers or network servers and setting up hardware in a variety of operating environments such as MS Windows and Linux.
• Support and maintain the Voice Over IP telephone system.
• Assist in ensuring efficient use of computer system resources, maintaining system and data security, identifying network performance issues, and coordinating with vendor service personnel.
