Job Description

Position Summary

This elective course provides an overview of the reading and writing difficulties experienced by students in grades K through 10 who struggle with literacy competence. Teacher Candidates will learn about informal, classroom‑based tools used to assess and diagnose reading difficulties. They will also learn various strategies to differentiate instruction within an inclusive teaching‑learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education; Bachelor of Education and/or K‑12 Teaching Certification
  • K‑6 Ontario teaching experience with expertise supporting students with reading disabilities
  • Reading/Writing Instruction specialization
  • Doctoral degree in Education (preferred)
  • Post‑secondary teaching experience in Reading/Writing Instruction (preferred)
