The NYC Department of Buildings is responsible for ensuring the safe and lawful use of buildings and properties by enforcing the NYC Construction Codes, Energy Code and Zoning Resolution. We facilitate compliant development with integrity, efficiency and professionalism. The selected candidate for the Emergency Inspector position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Conducting technical inspections in response to general public complaints, interagency referrals, incidents, special assignments, and/or enforcement sweeps.
- Responding to emergencies promptly, taking Incident Commander's role when necessary.
