Doctoral Researcher in power electronics for a four‑year dissertation project at the Doctoral School of Industry Innovations (DSII) at Tampere University. The role is supervised jointly by a university professor and a company representative from GE Vernova.
Position Goals
- Develop control methods for utility‑scale power electronic converters operating as static synchronous compensators (STATCOMs).
- Develop software tools to support design, testing, and validation of the control methods.
Responsibilities
As a Doctoral Researcher, you will design and test the control methods in a simulation environment (e.g., Matlab), implement them in a hardware‑in‑the‑loop simulator, and finally run them on a low‑voltage laboratory prototype.
