Job Description
Support children with intellectual disabilities as a Direct Support Professional in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This casual role involves around 20 hours biweekly, with shifts ranging from 3-5 hours.
The position is managed under the Case Supervisor in the Kildonan Area. As a Direct Support Professional, you will work closely with children aged 10-12, emphasizing dignity and self-determination while collaborating with family members in the home environment. Flexibility in hours is essential, and a valid Manitoba Driver's License is required for the role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Optimize dignity and personal outcomes for children
• Maximize normal environmental and lifestyle features
• Respect the foster home as a private residence
• Include relevant education and training
Requirements:
• Grade XII Diploma or G.E.D.
• Certification in CPR and Emergency First Aid
• Minimum one year’s experience with disabilities
• Ability to follow individualized program plans
