Job Description
The Government of the Northwest Territories seeks a Senior Conservator for the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre in Yellowknife. This role focuses on preserving and caring for cultural heritage collections.
As a Senior Conservator, you will lead efforts in safeguarding museum artifacts and archival records, ensuring they endure for future generations. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with collections staff, Indigenous governments, and cultural organizations to implement effective preservation strategies for expansive, high-value collections.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage conservation activities for museum and archival collections
• Implement collections care plans and treatment strategies
• Establish standards for collection storage and monitoring
• Support exhibit preparation with conservation expertise
• Provide conservation advice for various heritage projects
Requirements:
• Master’s degree or graduate certificate in Conservation
