Community-Focused Inpatient Physician Role
Job Description
Join the team at West Coast General Hospital as a Community Hospital Inpatient Physician and make a difference in patient care. This position allows you to work full-time or part-time in a collaborative setting.
At WCGH, the CHIP team is dedicated to maximizing patient safety and providing culturally aware care. Physicians in this role will manage a diverse range of inpatients, engage in meaningful consultations with community clinics, and support local Indigenous populations. Your participation in daily team reports will be essential for ensuring smooth admission and discharge processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the MRP for unattached inpatient cases
• Conduct daily patient rounds and assessments
• Facilitate inter-facility patient transfers and repatriation
• Provide vitally needed consult services to rural areas
• Respond to urgent patient inquiries efficiently
