Responsibilities:
Operate a Class 1 commercial vehicle on long-haul routes, primarily on the Dempster Highway from Whitehorse to Inuvik
Ensure safe and timely delivery of cargo while adhering to all transportation regulations and company policies
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain truck safety and compliance
Accurately complete and maintain all required documentation, including logbooks, inspection reports, and delivery receipts
Navigate challenging road conditions, including gravel roads, ice roads, and mountain passes
Manage load securement and weight distribution to ensure safe transport
Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other drivers using various communication tools
Perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting as needed
Adapt to changing weather conditions and adjust driving techniques accordingly
