Cardiologist with Cardiac Device Implanting Specialty 200-0979

Island Health’s Department of Cardiology has an opportunity for a full‑time Cardiologist with Cardiac Device implant specialty training to join an existing cardiologist and a group of dedicated cardiac internists and intensivists at NRGH to establish a Heart Health Division in Nanaimo, which will be part of a well‑established 20‑member Division of Cardiology in Victoria.

Eligibility and Responsibilities

Eligible applicants must hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Cardiology and demonstrate competency in all aspects of cardiology.

• Coverage of both coronary care unit and cardiology wards.
• Cardiology On‑Call coverage only.
• Device implantation and clinical oversight/management of patients in the local Pacemaker Clinic.
• Additional training available through the affiliated electrophysiology and device management group at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria.
