:In this course, students will learn about the fundamental role of the cryosphere in polar environments, and the impacts of climate change on communities and ecosystems. The course will focus on the Canadian North and the Arctic, with additional examples from Antarctica and the Tibetan Plateau (Third Pole). By the end of this course, students will be able to engage critically with different types of data and systems of knowledge to describe the regional geography of Earth’s polar regions.
