Summary

Required to prepare and protect surfaces and apply protective and decorative coatings and paint to aircraft and/or components in accordance with the highest industry and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Painter, as required, shall clean and prepare surfaces using a variety of approved methods and shall prepare surfaces to ensure an aerodynamically smooth finish.
• Painter shall possess the necessary skills required to prepare and paint speed lines, insignias, and identifying characters on the aircraft.
• Aircraft Painter shall also be able to finish wood surfaces based on his/her expertise.
• Employees of this category can also be engaged in the inspection of components, parts, units, materials to ensure that they meet Transport Canada/F.A.A./E.A.S. A, company standards of airworthiness and may be required to go through an approved company apprenticeship program.
