Overview

The Aircraft Sheetmetal Mechanic II maintains, fabricates, and installs sheet-metal equipment and fixtures for an establishment. Work includes planning, laying out sheet-metal maintenance from blueprints or specifications, setting up and operating sheet-metal machines, and using hand tools to cut, bend, form, shape, fit, and assemble sheet-metal articles.

Responsibilities

• Read and analyze work requests and applicable specifications or similar work data.
• Develop and draw working sketches showing view, section, or profile.
• Manufacture and fabricate aircraft sheet metal parts, panels, doors, etc., from various serviced aircraft, handling straight and curved edges and irregular surfaces on components such as fuselage, door assemblies, windshield panels, washers, and firewalls.
• Determine type and extent of repair or replacement, select materials and repair methods, lay out, cut, form, join, assemble, and install items. ...
